Once again, a week has flown by like a flash of lightening. A bit literally in this case. We had a thunderstorm almost every day this week. It has been super hot and humid all day every day. Up to about 30 Celsius every day. Then in the evenings Zeus rains down his wrath and we get to experience a light show. Thankfully we have been repentant and weren't hit by any streaks of lightening. A couple days this week, yesterday included, it has rained water drops literally the size of cats and dogs. I haven't ever seen it rain that hard. Luckily the Bas Mobile has an aquatics setting that allows us to stay in out of the rain while the English monsoons rain down.
We were able to do a lot of work this week despite the weather. We are working very hard and exhausting every effort to help Caren be baptised. She has pretty much come to the conclusion that she is going to do it despite her family's opposition. We have been praying like crazy this week for her. We have quite a few people we are teaching currently so we are staying very busy. We almost have no time for dinner appointments. We had so much food from members this past week that I am almost sick of eating... almost. We are blessed to have a great ward.
Speaking of our ward we had an awkward situation yesterday at church. So the lady in our ward that plays the organ has a stake calling so is usually away on Sundays so she isn't always there to play for our ward. Our ward mission leader used to play the piano for a baptist church so he's pretty good but unfortunately wasn't there this week either. Now my companion plays pretty well and was all lined out to play this week. However we needed to go with a member to pick up an investigator to come to church. It took a bit longer than expected and we arrived back at the chapel at 10.02. I thought to myself, "everyone is on mormon standard time, they haven't started the meeting yet." I jinxed myself because when we walked in the congregation was singing "Welcome Welcome Sabbath Morning" acapella style. The ward sounded good though. I think it built some unity between the saints. To add to it, the counselor in the bishopric that was just put in last week was conducting for the first time yesterday so I think he was a bit nervous about the music situation. Plus when he started the meeting and saw that I wasn't there I think he may have freaked out a bit because I was to give the opening prayer. It all turned out in the end and we had cake after church to celebrate. It was a good Sunday.
Well that's pretty much my week. Hope yours has been less wet and nerve wracking as mine. Thanks for all the love and support and pictures, etc... I love you all!!!
