The General Epistle of Samuel (Still fixing stuff)

Well this was an interesting week. We had interviews on Tuesday and that is when things got crazy. One district out of the two went and were interviewed in the morning and then the district we are in came in the afternoon. There is a time however when the entire zone is together to hear a training given by President Jordan. He gave a great training on everything we had already talked about in our zone meeting the week prior. This made things click in the missionaries heads that there was a problem that needed to be fixed. Sister Jordan then rebuked (when I say rebuked I mean rebuke) the zone for having the worst area books she has ever seen. That was a pretty big slap in the face to the missionaries. Then to add the icing on the cake President said that we had 15 minutes to talk it out amongst ourselves to find a solution. He then walked out.

Once we were able to get all the missionaries jaws off the floor and salvaged what was left of their burnt eyebrows we shared some stats about the zone with them that painted the picture pretty clearly about how much their dis-unity and dis-obedience was affecting the progress of the zone and mission. By then it had fully sunk in that our zone was doing the worst in the mission and that we needed to change that. Tough conversation. We discussed a few problems and came up with solutions and then President came back in and resumed interviewing missionaries. Fun stuff.

The next day we had an exchange with the assistants. I was with Elder Torres again and we did work here in Colchester. It was a great exchange. It was wonderful to work with him again. The next day we took the train into London and then had to drive a car back to Maldon, and area in our zone, because they just were approved to have a car. Later that evening we were called by the office to go trade cars with the Elders in Braintree, another area in our zone, because they just received a brand new car and they didn't want that area to have it because they abused their last car. Those Elders weren't too happy when we called them and gave them the news. The new car is great though. It is a Toyota Yaris. Tiny car but it is nice.

The following day we had an exchange with a companionship that has been struggling. We soon found out why. One missionary in the companionship was taking advantage of the fact that his companion was new and wasn't fully aware of all the rules he was breaking. We had to have a companionship inventory with them both and admonish the senior companion to stop being a waster and shape up. He was inspired by the interview fun and needed a nice reminder. Hopefully things will improve there.

Now that I am done venting I don't think I have much more to talk about haha :P We are nearing the end of the transfer so that means P-day is on Tuesday next week. I'll probably be staying but just in case, send post to the mission office address. Well I hope you all have a wonderful week! I love you all!

Love,
Elder Dalton
