Hello everyone!!!
Well it is the best day of the week again. P-day!!! This past week has been crazy. It started off with monday being a work day and transfer calls. Tuesday was our P-day which was mostly chilling in the flat while Elder Martinez got packed. We visited a few families as well so he could say good bye. Then wednesday came. To sum wednesday up it was a mess. It was transfer day so we had to go into London which is usualy great. Unfortunately the public transport in london was on strike so practically none of the tube lines were working. That made it quite difficult for us to get around. We came into London Liverpool street on the overground train and needed to get to Euston station (across london). Since the tubes weren't running we asked for the easiest way. We were directed to which bus to take. Upon arriving at the stop we saw that there was no way we were going to get on with three suitcases. With no other option we decided to take a taxi. That was much more comfortable. The uncomfortable part was it was £18. We were already spending a ton of money to get around as it is. Finaly we made it to Euston station. Then Elder Martinez's companion wasn't where he was supposed to be. He was at Kings Cross. So we walked with a few other Elders a couple blocks to Kings X to make the connection. Once I was able to drop him off safely me and two other Elders needed to make our way to South Kensington station. Luckily by then some tube lines were working so we were able to take the victoria line and then connect on the district line. The major problem we faced with that was not all the stations on the line were open and no one was absolutely sure which ones were and weren't. Including the driver haha. We would go from station to station and the driver would say over the intercom, "I don't know if the next station is open. I'll slow down and see. If not we're going to the next one." We knew one was open for sure and we could walk to the hyde park chapel from there but it was a walk. Luckily, and due to our many prayers, the south kensington station was open. Now we were supposed to be at the trainers meeting by 10.30. We didn't get there until about 12.30. Turns out there were only two missionaries that made it there on time. It was a mess. Sister Jordan said something quite funny when we started the meeting. She said, "Elders and Sisters, you will remeber this day for the rest of your life." (I was expecting something along the lines of being a new trainer and what not) she continued, "You will remeber this as the day that nothing went right!" It was funny because it was true. As stressful as it was I was able to see more of proper London so that was awesome.
Once the travel ordeal was over and we were able to relax for a bit before we were put with our new companions. My new companions name is Elder Jensen. He is from a small town called Camas in the exotic state of Utah. Haha I know, companion number three from Utah. I am excited to be training him. He has a great desire to be doing the work and we'll have a lot of Greenie faith on our side. The rest of our week was pretty quite. We have a busy week coming up so we are excited to be getting back into the usual routine. I just need to get used to doing 12 weeks again.
Thats it for my week. I look forward to hearing from all of you and hope you all have a splendid week!
Love,
Elder Dalton
Elder Jensen is the scared missionary on the right. Elder Dickey is one of our zone leaders and he trained my trainer Elder Green.
