Its me again!
This week went pretty well. Our numbers were pretty low but we still were able to have some success. We had a Zone Training meeting and have implimented a new procedure to ensure our enthusiasm and zeal for the work stays at a constant high level. The new program is titled "Happy Happy Joyful Happy Day." I promise it has been inspired ;) What we do is at the end of the day we write down in our planners one miracle that we witnessed durring the day and one "what the?!" While on a mission you are guaranteed at least one of both. It has been quite effective in helping us visualise the successes we are having even though we may be having a rough time.
Since it is november and comming up on armistise day poppy appeal has been in full swing. Everyone you see is wearing a red poppy. It is very similar to the yello "remember our troops" ribbons in the states. As a service project we went to a mall in cambridge and helped a church member sell the poppys. He is over the whole thing in the area so he asked for some help. It was quite impressive to see how many people were willing to donate quite a bit of money for a paper flower. While we were selling them I had a great "what the?!" An older woman from the Czech republic stopped and wanted some pictures of some poppys because she was an english teacher back in her country. So she took some pictures. Then she points the camera at me and said to smile. I was wearing a poppy and she wanted a picture of someone wearing it. So I had the privilege of being the model. I made sure my name tag was fully visible as well. We had a good chuckle about it once she walked away.
Caroline, our most progressing investigator was at church again this week. She didn't stay for relief society though. She had a bad experience last week in there. They had a dodgey lesson about the law of chastity and that kind of freaked her out. We cleared up the confusion though so she still wants to meet with us haha. We had a great lesson with her last night and she committed to live the word of wisdom. She will have to give up coffee to do it but she said she wasn't too hooked on it to begin with so we will see. She is a great woman and we can see the gospel realy making changes in her life. There is a light in her eyes that wasn't there when we first met her. We are excited for her to continue progressing.
Holloween wasn't too eventful. We just chilled in the flat and called a few investigators. I skinnied a tie for another missionary (im getting good at sewing haha) and we ate some candy.
It was great getting to see all the pictures of your guys' halloween activities. I doughnuts looked delicious and yes they have dougnuts here. They just arent as good as homemade. I am doing wonderful and look forward to hearing from all of you soon. Thanks for the love support and prayers. Keep it comming! Oh and transfer calls will be a week from today so next pday will be on a tuesday and moves will be wednesday. I will let you all know tuesday november 12th where I will be spending the next six weeks. Don't mail anything to my ely address until you know where I will be.
