The General Epistle of Samuel (transfer week)

November 12, 2013

Well hello again!

This week has been quite a rainy and cold week but despite the weather we have had a wonderful time serving the Lord. We have been able to find two new investigators. One of them is twenty one. While we met with him he asked how old we were so we told him to guess. He guessed about 25 for both of us. That was a bit weird. Needless to say he was quite surprised when we told him we were 19 haha. He is taking some philosophy classes in university but he has definitely been prepared to hear the gospel. He told us how on the day we met him earlier that day he had a philosophy class and in it there was a girl that was annoying him because she wouldn't think outside the box and consider new ideas. He told us that really made him rethink how open he is to new ideas. Then that evening we knocked on his door :) This was definitely a testimony to me of how the Lord prepares people for the gospel and how we as missionaries are guided by the Lords hand when we seek his help.

Anyways moving on the what I'm sure you all are wanting to hear. As you know transfer calls were last night. I have been reassigned to the Ipswich area. North of Ely. I will be follow-up training Elder Martinez from Spain. He is still learning English but he speaks it quite well. I will still be in the Cambridge zone. There is also a bit of confusion right now as to who the District Leader will be for the Ipswich district. It's either me or another Elder in the district because the other two elders are only on their second transfer. I'm sure it will be the other Elder because he has been out longer. I'll be sure to let you all know next week. Elder Farley is staying in Ely still. He is training as well. He is scared out of his mind lol. He said last night was a sleepless night but I'm sure he will do quite well. He works hard and has a great attitude.

Other than that the week has been mostly the usual. We had a ward harvest party activity this past week which was nice. The cambridge ward is great. I was a bit sad when I found out I would be leaving that ward. Either way I know I'm being sent where I need to go. It is just a bit crazy though because it has been quite a while since they have sent and american to Ipswich. There are a lot of portuguese and spanish people there. The ward has about 200 active members and half are portuguese. It will be an adventure that's for sure. Well that's it for this week. I'll send more pictures of me in Ely. Thanks for all you guys do. Love you!
