The General Epistle of Samuel (I'm tired)‏

December 9, 2013

Hello my peeps!

I hope this past week has just been absolutely amazing for all of you. That way it can overcompensate for the long week we had here haha. This week was full of plans not working the way they were supposed to which happens. And I'll get over it. haha Anyway it wasn't super terrible we were actually able to find some people to teach this week which is good since we are about to baptize our only investigator. Speaking of which that is this Saturday and we are excited for Steve. He had his interview this week and passed so that is a relief haha. As slow as this week went, the Lord was being very merciful to us and basically handing us people to teach. Last thursday evening we were chillaxing in the flat when we got a random phone call from a less active member that we haven't been able to make contact with for over four weeks. He had been giving us the excuse that they were busy and didn't have time to meet. Turns out he was telling the truth because when they called they said they found a place to live and are ready to have us come over to teach. The less active's name is Sam and his fiance is Kayleigh and she is the one investigating the church. THey basically told us to come over and start teaching them. The main issue we foresee is that they need to be married before they can be baptized since they are living together so we may be planning a wedding first. Maybe I'll get to mark that one off the mission bucket list haha. They are interesting people but are willing to hear the gospel so I'm not complaining. We will just need to have members take us to the lessons because I really dont want to walk an hour one way to their place. We went by the welcome to Ipswich sign on the way so they are right on the opposite edge of town. It is worth it though.

Other than that our week has been, as I said before, quite slow. One highlight was the Mission Choir came to Ipswich to perform a Christmas program. It was a very nice performance and very spiritual. It was fun seeing some of the Missionaries from my MTC group there. Elder David was in it (Jill knows who he is) and he bore a very powerful testimony durring the performance. It was great getting to talk with all the missionaries I have made friends with. After the performance some of the Ipswich ward members asked why I wasn't in the Choir so I told them that the Mission Choir couldn't afford me and would have to start booking larger venues if they wanted me to sing with them. We all had a good laught :)

This next week should be quite eventful. We have some lessons scheduled. A zone conference on thursday where Elder Dyches will be to speak to us and tell us how to do our jobs better and what not. I promise I'll pay attention in this one haha. And of course saturday is the baptism of Steve. This week will be a good one. I can't wait for Christmas and I hope you all have a wonderful week!! I love you all!
