This has been a short time between emails. Since you have last heard from me we have just been work work working. We were able to find some new people to teach and had a very frustrated man try to tell us we couldn't stand on the side walk in front of his house and talk to someone. It's been a good couple of days.
On the topic of new people found to teach. We were knocking doors in the evening and had a great experience. We knocked on this door and a very timid woman answered from the other side wanting to know who we were. We replied that we were missionaries and she cautiously opened the door. We could see that she was very upset so instead of the usual door approach we just asked if we could help her in any way. She broke into tears and said no. We continued to talk with her until she calmed down. She told us that she was originally from South Africa and that she was Zulu so I used some Zulu that I learned in Stratford. She lit up very big and was thankful for my attempt to speak her language. We talked a bit longer and could tell she needed some help sorting out her life and finding some more meaning. My companion felt prompted to tell her that the Lord had prepared her to receive us and that we knocked on her door for a reason. She felt comforted by that because she said she was praying a few days before and wanted some more help. We shared a bit about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and said a prayer with her and set an appointment to stop by again. She seems pretty solid so we'll see where it goes.
This week we will be working as hard as we can. We are working without a car as well because on my birthday we were headed to district meeting and suddenly smoke began pouring out from under the car's bonnet and we lost power so we pulled into a car park that was luckily right there and let the car cool down and called a tow truck. We then waited for two hours until the guy made it to us. The plus side was we were able to teach the tow man a bit about the restoration. The car just needs a new water pump so we'll hopefully have it back before the end of the week.
Well that is about the extent of our excitement here. Thank you to everyone that sent me kind birthday wishes. They were graciously received. I look forward to hearing from all of you again!
