This week has gone quite well. It was transfers week but since neither Elder Jensen or myself were moving it just turned out that our P-day was on tuesday. That was about the only difference. The rest of the week was full of work work work. Thursday I got to conduct my first ever district meeting. Not as exciting as you might think. It went well. Aparently it's hard to mess something like that up haha. We were able to meet with one of our investigators named Ryan in a members home which was awesome. He is continuing to grow so much and it is awesome to see. He even came to church on sunday which was awesome! It has been ages since we have had an investigator at church. It was great. The work is continuing to move forward here and I am enjoying every minute of it.
With more responsibility I am learning to work more efficiently and am being pushed to be the very best that I can which I am so thankful for. I have learned so much so far and anticipate a lot more in the future. I found out this week as well that this transfer will only be a five week transfer (don't ask me why) so we are having to work even faster to achieve our goals for the transfer. I am super excited for General Conference in a couple of weeks. I can't believe this will be number two on the mission. Time flies TOO FAST. We have zone conference tomorrow here in Ipswich as well so I am excited for that. Zone conferences are great. Especially when you pay attention ;)
No for a cool story. It's kind of a "you had to be there story" but I'll tell it anyway. So I love to tract really posh neighbourhoods because the houses are awesome and usualy the people have a car to get themselves to church lol. So a couple nights ago we were tracting this street and came to this older gentleman's house. The man's name was John and he was a very kind individual. When he answered his door he immediately knew who we were. We chatted with him for a while and determined that he wasn't super interested but he was fun to chat with. We got talking a bit more and he invited us in to see his back garden. The garden was huge for being in town. The guy apperently had quite a bit of money because he was telling us all about what he has his gardener do. After chatting for a bit longer he showed us back to the front door. We stood at the step and talked even more. Since I love wood working I asked him about the wood paneling on his walls and his wood furniture, and about the house and how old it was etc. That got him going some more and he invited us back in to tour his house lol. Throughout the conversation we were throwing in some gospel snippets but he wasn't biting on anything. We even offered him a Book of Mormon at the first but he didn't want it. We finished the tour in his study area with a sweet mantle and a ton of books on all the shelves. He pointed out how he had so many books and that he didn't need ours. I quickly responded that I didn't think his collection would look complete without a Book of Mormon. He just chuckled and stuck his hand to me and said he would take one. Elder Jensen handed him one he looked at it and said, "well you should probably sign it" we laughed and both signed the book. We left him with a prayer and went on our way. We probably won't see anything come of it while I am here in Ipswich at least but it is a bread crumb for him to choose to pick up or not. Plus I got to see the inside of a really cool old house.
Well thats it for my week. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and I look forward to hearing from you all again. I love you all!
