The General Epistle of Samuel (adventures)‏

March 3, 2014

Hello again!

Well another week has come and gone and the work is still moving forward. We have had a couple of pretty funny adventures this week. These are probably more funny if you were there but I'll tell them anyway. So last P-day Elder Jensen decided that he wanted to have fish n' chips for the first time so we decided to make a trip out this small village that we had heard was realy good. So we got on a bus and made the treck not really knowing where we were going. I have learned how to pretend like I know what is going on all the time haha. Anyway the bus took us out to a big superstore so we looked up the address on the computers and found where we needed to go. We took off and walked about a mile to the shop (a mile isn't too far to walk anymore). The whole way Elder Jensen didn't seem like he was having that great of a time but i figured the food would cheer him up. Once we got to the chippy we were disappointed to find out their hours. They're hours were from 12.00 to 2.00 and then 5.00 to 10.00. We showed up at 3.00. I just had to laugh. We had an appointment at six so we figured we might as well enjoy the scenery on the way back so we decided to take a bit of a nature walk. Whilst doing that I went to check my planner and realized that it wasn't in my bag. Laughing again, mainly because I don't think E. Jensen was too enthused haha, so we headed back to the store because I had pulled it out at the computers to check the address. Once we got there we went to the customer service desk and asked if they had found my planner. They had which was great. To celebrate our failed attempt at fish n' chips we bought lemonade and took the bus back. It was more exciting while it happened haha.

Our second adventure also involved food. We(I) decided to introduce Elder Jensen to a kabab. To sum up what that is; a kabab is basically mystery meat in peta bread and covered in greasy goodness. We asked a ward member where a good shop was to get a kabab. We got the address and I figured I knew where it was. Again I was pretending I knew what I was doing. We took off walking (missionary speed) to find the place. It was uphill practically the whole way. We walked for ages and weren't finding the place. We looked around a few streets but couldn't find the place. We were running short on time so we decided to get heading to our next appointment via the waterfront (there was a pizza place there I wanted to try). Luckily when we got to the pizza place it was open and easy to find! The pizza was realy good and I taught E. Jensen how to walk fast and eat pizza at the same time. I have a feeling he doesn't like my ideas anymore haha. I think looking back on it now he thinks it was funny but I'm sure he hated my guts while we were on our adventures. Oh well, it creates companionship unity. Or something...

The rest of our week went pretty well. Were able to help an investigator start taking the steps to quit smoking and played psychiatrist for another investigator for an hour and a half. That career idea is out of the question now haha. We had a great sunday as well. It was fast and testimony meeting so I went up and bore my testimony about the saviour and missionary work and how the ward is awesome and how I love my companion. Afterwards I had to laugh becasue a bunch of members came up to me and asked when I had gotten a new companion haha. It has been four weeks since transfers and they just noticed. It's all good though. He has a talk next sunday so everyone will know who he is now. That was pretty much my week. This next one is going to be full of traveling. Cambridge tomorrow (I love that town/county), London on wednesday, and possibly back to Cambridge thursday for a work over with the Zone Leaders (second one this transfer, they must love me;) ). Well I hope everyones week goes well and I look forward to hearing from you all again!

Love,
Elder Dalton
