Hello everyone!!!!!
Well another week is done here in sunny Ipswich. We have had an eventful week and another eventful three weeks to come. We had two work overs and lots of appointments. And even more walking. It was a very productive week and I am happy to have a P-day today.
One of the high lights of the week happened while on a work over with one of the zone leaders Elder Tan (from singapore). We were out finding in town centre and had stopped quite a few people but with no luck. Finally we stopped this young woman from Estonia in her twenties and started talking with her. At first she didn't seem too interested but the more we talked the more she lit up. We asked if she had ten minutes that we could share more about our message and she told us we had an hour haha. The only place to sit down where it was warm was in starbucks so thats where we went. She bought a coffee and Elder Tan and I had a quick discussion on what to teach. We decided to go with the restoration. The atmosphere wasn't the best since there was music playing and it was a bit loud but we pressed on. As we taught about God being our Heavenly Father and that He loves us she began to cry and say that she has always felt that way and was so happy to hear someone confirm her fealings. We continued with the lesson and she cried about three or four more times. She was very happy and excited to hear what we had to share. Elder Tan and I were quite astonished. We gave her a Book of Mormon, taught her to pray and swapped contact details and set a time to meet again. As we left Elder Tan went to shake her hand. She shook it then gave him a big hug! It caught him completely off guard and I was trying not to laugh when suddenly she hugged me too. Once we went our seperate ways Elder Tan and I looked at eachother wondering what the crap had just happened. It was a great lesson with a strange ending haha. Unfortunately she will be going back to Estonia in two weeks so we wont get to completely teach her but I was able to get all the contact details of the Baltic Mission that covers where she lives and all the branch houses in her country.
The other experience we had this week was the service project we had. One of the ward members called us one evening saying he needed help moving a window or something so we agreed and he set a time to pick us up. We and the other Ipswich elders met the member and rode with him to the shop where he needed our help. Turns out the member works for an American company out of Utah that armours private vehicles lol. The glass we needed to "move" was actually a bulletproof windshield (windscreen in this country) that was an inch and a half thick. By moving it he actually meant put it in the Land Rover they were working on. So we helped. And it was awesome. He showed us how they armour a car. They had a few other vehicles in different stages so we were able to see the process. It was cool and of course I took pictures so I'll send those :)
Other than that our week has been made up of walking, finding, and tracting. Steve has a baptismal date for December 14th so we are excited for him. We are going over to have pizza at his place tonight to prepare him for his baptismal interview this week. The work is moving along and I am continuing to learn patients with Elder Martinez.
I am glad you all enjoyed your thanksgiving. I hope you all have a wonderful week and don't miss me too much. I Love you all!!!
